Oslo, the capital city of Norway, is the 2019 European Green Capital and acts as an ambassador for sustainable urban development, sharing and promoting best practices to inspire others to make meaningful environment changes. The Norwegian capital plans to cut emissions by 95 percent by 2030, despite being one of Europe's fastest growing cities. To achieve this climate goal, the city council has introduced its own climate budget — possibly the first of its kind in the world. The city has become the ‘Electric Vehicle Capital of the World’ with 60% of all new vehicles sold in the city being electric in the first half of 2018.
