Arnold Schwarzenegger invites under the motto “UNITE IN ACTION – TERMINATE POLLUTION” to the Vienna Hofburg
On June 3, 2025, Vienna will once again host one of the world’s most significant climate protection conferences, the AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT (AWS), now in its ninth year. Organized by the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative, the summit has once again secured Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen as its esteemed political patron.
Host Arnold Schwarzenegger: “Our motto this year is clear and powerful: Unite in Action – Terminate Pollution. It will define our conference in June, which aims to bring together participants from over 80 countries worldwide to develop joint solutions and drive progress forward.”
Austria’s Federal President Alexander van der Bellen elaborates: “I am particularly looking forward to this year’s AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT, as it represents an important signal of collaboration and action, especially now. It unites people, ideas, and solutions from all over the world and consolidates them in the Vienna Hofburg. This is how we face the challenges of the climate crisis together and actively shape a sustainable future.”
Once again, Schwarzenegger will bring together climate leaders from across the globe, providing them with a stage to share insights and foster connections. His call traditionally attracts high-ranking representatives from politics, business, and science, as well as renowned actors, artists, and changemakers from around the world.
Focus on First Responders in the Climate Crisis
This year, AWS 2025 will shine a spotlight on first responders—the unsung heroes who tirelessly battle climate-related disasters on the frontlines.
We have all seen the images in the media: raging wildfires in California, catastrophic floods in Spain, Italy, and Austria, and extreme weather events wreaking havoc across the globe. These first responders confront this new reality daily, demonstrating courage, determination, and innovation as they combat the direct effects of climate change. Their actions embody the true spirit of community service and a commitment to a sustainable future.
Monika Langthaler, Director of the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative, adds: “The first responders on the frontlines of the climate crisis are role models for all of us. Their commitment demonstrates that every decision, every effort, and every action counts in protecting our world – today and for future generations. That’s why we want to give them a stage at this year’s summit as well.”
Given today’s global challenges, the AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT 2025 will once again serve as a key moment for climate action, providing a platform for global leaders, activists, and innovators to address urgent climate issues and showcase groundbreaking solutions. At the same time, the AWS Solutions Expo, the freely accessible exhibition for greater climate protection, will once again take place in the premises of the Hofburg.
