300,000 Euros donated to the Los Angeles Fire Department
“In times that challenge us greatly, it is crucial that we gather together once again to stand for the protection of our planet and a healthier future for all. But let me be clear: my mind remains with my fellow citizens in Los Angeles. So we will also be raising money for the brave Fire Fighters and the people rebuilding California” said Arnold Schwarzenegger as he welcomed his guests to the fourth “Special Dinner for Climate Action” at the legendary Stanglwirt.
The event, held for the fourth time during the iconic Hahnenkamm ski race week, achieved a record-breaking €1.55 million for a cleaner future. Of that total, €300,000 was specifically allocated to support firefighting efforts in Los Angeles, where extraordinary work is being done to combat devastating wildfires.
“We are particularly proud to send a powerful message for the protection of our planet in the middle of the majestic Tyrolean Alps. Every guest, every donation, and every supported project enables us to continue our commitment to environmental and climate protection. This evening demonstrates the importance of determined action and cross-border collaboration to secure a livable and healthy future for our planet,” emphasized Monika Langthaler, Director of the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative.
“I started fighting for the environment when I was governor of California, and I’ve never stopped. The challenges we face at the moment are a call to action– The work we are doing tonight is a proof that we can create a world where pollution is a thing of the past and a sustainable, equitable future for all becomes possible,” added Schwarzenegger.
More than 170 guests attended this extraordinary networking event and auction, including high-profile figures such as Giovanni and Jana Ina Zarrella, Matthias Schweighöfer and Ruby O. Fee, The BossHoss, Luise Bähr, Ralf Möller, Barbara Meier, Mark Keller, and many more.
A wide variety of items were auctioned, including artwork, signed memorabilia, unique experiences, and personal belongings. Among the most sought-after items were a workout session with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, which raised €100,000, and a VIP Meet & Greet package with artist Giovanni Zarrella, which fetched €125,000. Additionally, one of Schwarzenegger’s iconic watches was auctioned for €170,000, with the final amount doubled to €340,000 to support firefighting efforts in Los Angeles.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative, which organizes the annual international climate conference, the AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT, in Vienna. This event highlights concrete solutions from around the globe and connects climate heroes. Additionally, the initiative supports select environmental and climate protection projects worldwide. This year, €300,000 of the proceeds will also contribute to disaster relief and rebuilding efforts in Los Angeles.
